At Nectr, our passion for crafting exceptional kombucha drives us to source the finest ingredients. We’re thrilled to share that we’re now procuring our ingredients almost exclusively from the renowned Ontario Food Terminal in Toronto. This strategic partnership not only elevates the quality of our products but also strengthens our commitment to supporting local farmers and communities.
What is the Ontario Food Terminal?

Established in 1954, the Ontario Food Terminal is Canada’s largest wholesale fruit and produce distribution center, and the third largest in North America. Located in Toronto, this 40-acre facility distributes over 2 billion pounds of produce annually, serving as a vital hub for farmers, wholesalers, retailers, and food service providers.
Empowering Local Farmers
By sourcing from the Ontario Food Terminal, we’re directly contributing to the local economy and promoting sustainable agriculture. The terminal provides a platform for Ontario farmers to showcase and sell their produce, ensuring that fresh, high-quality fruits and vegetables reach businesses like ours. This collaboration not only helps farmers thrive but also reduces the environmental impact associated with long-distance transportation.

Uncompromising Quality
The Ontario Food Terminal is renowned for its stringent quality standards. The produce sourced here undergoes meticulous selection processes, ensuring that only the freshest and most flavourful ingredients make their way to us. This commitment to excellence aligns perfectly with Nectr’s dedication to delivering top-tier kombucha to our customers.
Bringing Fresh Produce to Our Store
Beyond enhancing our kombucha offerings, we’re excited to announce that fresh produce will now be available directly in our store. By bringing the same high-quality fruits and vegetables from the Ontario Food Terminal to our shelves, we aim to provide our community with access to nutritious and locally-sourced produce. This initiative reflects our holistic approach to wellness and sustainability.
We invite you to visit our store, Castle Antiques and Cafe (223 Highland St., Haliburton), to explore our expanded range of products and experience the freshness firsthand. Together, let’s celebrate and support the vibrant network of local farmers and the exceptional produce they bring to our tables.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue our journey towards sustainability and community engagement.
